North Country Adolescent Outreach

The goal of NCAO is to help adolescents build skills that will help them lead successful lives. Skill sets we target are good decision-making, the ability to work as part of team, appropriate risk-taking and communication skills. We want them to be able to take what they learn in the “field” as part of the program and apply it to their everyday lives.

NCAO emphasizes positive health behaviors and risk-reduction skills during all activities.

Mission:

North Country Adolescent Outreach is dedicated to:

  • providing peer education services on HIV, STI and sexual health issues to adolescents and young adults in St. Lawrence County
  • lowering area risk and incidence of HIV/STI and pregnancy
  • working towards increasing communication, decision making skills and self-efficacy in adolescents

North Country Adolescent Outreach is funded through grants provided by the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute and Jefferson/St. Lawrence Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Service.
