SOAR courses usually run anywhere from a one to eight sessions in a semester. There are two ten-week semesters - fall and spring.

About half of SOAR's classes are held on the SUNY Potsdam campus (a parking permit is included with SOAR membership); the rest of the classes are held in public places in the Canton/Potsdam area.

When are the classes held?

Usually courses meet once a week, with individual classes lasting from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. All classes are held during daytime hours.

What are the Membership Fees and Benefits?

Join SOAR at any time. A yearly membership of $65 (renewable in the fall) enables each student to take as many courses as they like from the SOAR curriculum. There are also opportunities to attend special classes or events, and each semester SOAR organizes at least one day trip opportunity. At the end of both the spring and fall semesters, SOAR also holds a luncheon on the SUNY Potsdam campus. The luncheons, day trips and other special opportunities throughout the year are at an additional cost.
