The community health major will prepare undergraduate students for employment in the community health education, health promotion, prevention and education professions. Students will also have the academic background necessary to apply for graduate studies in Health Sciences. Graduates from this program will gain the skills necessary to develop educational programs for specific groups and act as a health resource to individuals and organizations. The occupational opportunities available to graduates of the program are varied and include, but are not limited to: community health education, public health education, substance use prevention, health educators - hospitals and health care setting, HIV education, hospice, therapeutic recreation, corporate fitness, alcohol education, elder care setting, adolescent health, nutrition education, and occupational health and safety.
