For Campus Owned Computers

New Windows computers are deployed with F-Secure AntiVirus software.

New Macintosh computers are deployed with Sophos AntiVirus software.

For Faculty & Staff at Home

Our F-Secure agreement allows Faculty & Staff to install a copy onto their home PC. To obtain the software you have two options:

1) Download the software at: http://www3.potsdam.edu/cts/fsecure/fsecure.exe. This link only works when you are on campus. Once downloaded, you can bring the software home and install it. You will need to contact the CTS Helpdesk (x2083 or email helpdesk@potsdam.edu) to obtain the license code for the installation.

2) Bring a blank CD to the Helpdesk and we can burn a copy of the software onto it for you.

There is no similar agreement for Sophos AntiVirus.

Alternately, Faculty & Staff may wish to try one of the excellent free alternatives noted below in the student section!

For Students

These solutions are only available for faculty/staff computers. If you are a student in the Residence Halls check the Road Runner website for antivirus/spyware tools and other self help topics: http://www.rr.com/security
