Computer Requirements

Note: All current SUNY Potsdam owned computers easily meet these requirements, this information is provided for those that may choose to use a personally owned computer.

Microsoft Windows Users

Minimum:

  • Windows 2000 
  • 500 MHz Processor 
  • 256MB RAM 
  • Display resolution 1024x768 

Recommended:

  • Windows 2000 and above 
  • 800 MHz Processor 
  • 512MB - 1.0Gb RAM 
  • Display resolution 1024x768 or higher 
  • 17" monitor or higher 

Macintosh Users

Minimum :

  • OS X v10.3.9 
  • 200 MHz processor (G3 or higher) 
  • 256 MB RAM 
  • Display resolution 1024x768 
  • Apple Java 1.4.2_09 

Recommended:

  • OS X v10.3.9 and above 
  • 800 MHz processor  
  • 256 MB RAM 
  • Display resolution 1024x768 or higher 
  • Apple Java 1.4.2_09 or higher along with any other security and Java updates in the Software Update program started from the Apple icon menu on the desktop
  • 17" monitor or higher
