Using Course Copy in Blackboard

The Course Copy feature enables you to copy all content from one Blackboard (Bb) shell to another, or only specific elements and/or material. In most cases you will be copy material between your Template(s) and Course Shell(s).

Be sure to have requested your new Course Shells via the Blackboard Course Shell Request form found in BearPAWS. When the request has been completed, you will be ready to use the Course Copy feature.

An illustrated tutorial with greater detail is available for download. The following are the fundamental steps:

  1. Enter the Template (or Course Shell) that contains the material you wish to copy
  2. Enter the Control Panel
  3. Click Course Copy from the Course Options area (lower-left of the screen)
  4. Click Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course (DO NOT choose either of the other two options)
  5. Identify your destination course shell (Browse for and select one from list)
  6. Choose the content you wish to copy
  7. Click Submit
