The ITC hires student assistants who are competent in several programs and can mentor faculty with questions on using computer hardware and software. The list of applications may vary each semester depending on the student knowledge base. The student mentors do not have set schedules but instead will schedule appointments whenever they can meet one on one with faculty and staff at a time that is convenient for both parties.
During the fall 2010 semester, one student will be available in the ITC, Stillman 105 on Tuesdays from 2 pm to 4 pm for drop in appointments. Or you can contact the ITC at x4820 or itc@potsdam.edu to set up an appointment that is convenient for you.
Basic use of the following applications is available:
Microsoft Word
Powerpoint
Excel
Web development via WordPad or Dreamweaver
Audacity
Photoshop
Adobe Acrobat (basics)
Eclipse - a programming text editor for java
Note: The student assistants are also willing to explore other programs as needed.
