Computing & Technology Services supports either the iPhone/iPod Touch or the Droid. No other PDAs are supported at this time. If you have a PDA that is not listed here assume that it is not supported. Please contact the CTS Helpdesk (helpdesk@potsdam.edu) for compatibility information.

Only PDAs owned by the College or covered under a stipend receive support by CTS. Personally owned devices are not supported, however on-line documentation is provided if you wish to configure your own device.

Finally, the main purpose of PDAs on campus is to facilitate calendaring, contact, and e-mail as mobile platforms, as such this is the focus of CTS support for these devices. Users may use other applications but be advised that CTS will offer limited or no support.

Known Issues

An iPhone can stay in sync with MM without having to physically sync in real time, however it's read only and there are known calendar anomalies.

A Droid can stay in sync with MM without having to physically sync in real time, however it's read only, updates from MM are received only every 4 hours, and there are known calendar anomalies. It also requires a Google account to operate.

Whether the iPhone or the Droid, the calendar anomalies are the same mainly being meetings or Banners that get the time changed appear twice (the old and the new) and recurring Banners that span multiple days only show on the 1st day. This is a current limitation of Meeting Maker that the company has promised to address. There is currently no specific ETA on resolution of these issues from them.

In addition, the URL to these calendars is not password protected. Consider any event or meeting added to your calendar as public and viewable by anyone.
