Michael Rygel (geology) was a contributing author on a paper in the October 2013 volume of the Journal of Sedimentary Research entitled "Deconvolving signals of tectonic and climatic controls from continental basins: an example from the late Paleozoic Cumberland Basin, Atlantic Canada". The paper documents changes in ancient river systems as a result of long term shifts in paleoclimate. His co-authors include Jon Allen (ChevronTexaco), Chris Fielding (University of Nebraska-Lincoln), and Martin Gibling (Dalhousie University).
