Lisa Wilson (English & Communication) has been invited to present “Teaching Scholarly Editing with TEI [Text Encoding Initiative] xml,” for a digital humanities panel at East-Central American Society for Eighteenth Century Studies (EC/ASECS), Philadelphia, November 2013.

In April, Wilson began work on Digital Mitford, a new digital humanities scholarly editing project, in collaboration with colleagues from the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg and elsewhere. The project’s mission is to assemble a fully searchable and annotated digital edition of the literary works and letters of British author Mary Russell Mitford (1787-1855), using TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) xml coding methods, and analyzing and presenting data through network analysis, as well as through more conventional digital means.
