The Chemistry Department invites applications for a full-time stockroom manager to begin August 15, 2014.The stockroom manager will supervise daily operations of the chemical stockroom.

Duties include procurement of materials, inventory tracking, and preparation of samples, waste and safety records, reagents and solutions in support of the chemistry department's teaching and research laboratories. Successful applicant will also be responsible for training and supervision of student workers who will assist in operation of the stockroom and support and assist faculty and teaching staff with the chemical aspects of laboratory courses.

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in chemistry and training in laboratory safety (OSHA) guidelines and waste management regulations (EPA). Responsible, independent stewardship of resources and management of inventory. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students, manufacturers and vendors.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in chemistry and experience as an academic laboratory manager or assistant lab manager preparing reagents and operating instructional or research chemistry labs is desired.
