Institutional Review Board Reviews Proposals

The research proposal “Math Needs of College Freshmen” submitted by Kathleen Morris-Kortz, Jessica Willeford, Adrienne Teachout, Tara Rivers and Heather Nortz, Department of Extended Education/Curriculum and Instruction has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board. It has been determined that the use of human subjects in that research meets the criteria of exempt research on April 21, 2014. This exemption is applicable for a period of one year.


The research proposal “The Influence of Parenting on Student Motivation and Academic Performance” submitted by Dr. James Fryer and Amanda Whelan, Department of Psychology, has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and by the provost of the College. The researcher and the use of human subjects in that research have been approved as of April 18, 2014.
