New Resources Offered to Students

Study Skills

On our website ( you can find a supply of study skills resources for students. Feel free to distribute the materials or to refer students to these resources. Topics covered include: time management, note-taking, exam preparation, reading strategies and learning preferences. If you are interested in scheduling a workshop for your students on any of these or other related topics, please contact Tim Morse at or 267-3447.

Group Tutoring

The Academic Advising & Support Office will continue to organize the college's group tutoring program. Please refer students to our website ( for more information about the program and to complete a group tutor request form. There is also information and a job application for any student who is interested in becoming a tutor. If you have any questions about the program or recommendations for tutors, please contact Tim Morse.

Academic Intervention Requests (AIRs)

The Academic Intervention Request is an optional program for faculty and staff who may be concerned about the lack of academic progress of a particular student. This automated request can be submitted through BearPaws as a way of streamlining communication with relevant personnel. A professional staff member will follow up with the student regarding any concerns, offer support, and facilitate further communication. If you have questions or would like additional information about the AIR, please contact Tim Morse.

As always, the Academic Advising & Support Office will serve as the primary advising resource for undeclared, non-matriculated and transfer students. We provide assistance with questions related to general education and graduation requirements, adviser training and materials, and major/minor exploration. All faculty and staff members are encouraged to contact Carolyn Thew at or 267-3266 with any questions related to advising.
