Workshops

During the course of the year, the IRB will sponsor various workshops for the benefit of researchers planning to submit a proposal to the IRB.  The workshop details are available below.

Workshops

  • Wading through the IRB Forms
    Presented: September 21, 2012, future presentations to be announced.

    This workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to examine, ask questions about and get help with the forms used for the IRB applications, renewals and modifications.  Participants are welcome to bring a project or application to work on during the workshop.
  • Obtaining IRB Approval for Class Projects and Assignments (PDF)
    To be presented: September 17, 2014, in the Learning and Teaching Excellence Center(LTEC) in the library.

    This workshop will identify the types of classroom projects and class assignments that require IRB review.  The process for requesting IRB review for a classroom project or class assignment will be reviewed and discussed.
  • Smooth Sailing through the IRB Process (PDF)
    Presented: Friday, April 19, 2013 future presentations to be announced.

    This workshop will review IRB policies, including revisions to the policy, as well as the levels of IRB review. 
  • Ethics in Research: Tips for Making it Through the IRB
    To be presented: November 04, 2014, in the Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (LTEC) in the library.

    This workshop will focus will provide an overview of ethical principals and current conflicts of interest guidance.
