Physics majors begin with two years of study in general physics laboratories. By the third and fourth years, you'll have access to solid state, nuclear, spctroscopy, optics and laser laboratories.
Research opportunities are vast and have included such fascinating areas as optics, laser spectroscopic studies of molecular ions, and neutrals.
There's also a 3/2 program. A student completes the first three years at SUNY Potsdam, then finishes the last two years at an engineering campus, taking home both Physics and Engineering degrees.
