SUNY Potsdam’s Gibson Gallery will be featuring the work of Andy Warhol as part of the gallery’s annual ArtPartnership exhibition from March 4 to April 10, 2010. ArtPartnership is the Gibson’s annual exhibition geared toward school age students in the North Country making accessible important artists and collections to area children and the North Country community.
A section of the gallery will exhibit Warhol’s Silver Clouds, a unique display of silver, helium filled balloons that the viewer is forced to interact with in unusual ways. The exhibition will also showcase the entire collection of 155 photographs recently given to the Museum from the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program, a selection of his famous silkscreen portraits, Warhol’s Screen Tests along with a documentary screening will run daily from noon to 1 p.m.
The opening reception is March 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Along with the exhibition visitors to the opening reception will have a chance to meet the “artist,” as played by a SUNY Potsdam theatre student in attendance as Andy Warhol.
