SUNY Potsdam will host a donor drive for “Be the Match,” the National Marrow Donor Program’s registry on Thursday, Nov. 11 in the College’s Barrington Student Union Fireside Lounge.
The “Be the Match” drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and between 6 and 8 p.m.
Most people don't realize that the process for joining the registry starts with just a simple cheek swab. For more information about becoming a donor, including health guidelines, visit www.bethematch.org.
Last year, SUNY Potsdam’s “Be the Match” drive led to a student being identified as a match and donating marrow to a young girl with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
This event is free, and the public is encouraged to attend. Donations for “Be the Match” will be accepted at the event.
