SUNY Potsdam faculty, staff and students rolled up their sleeves recently to donate blood to the American Red Cross, and thanks to their efforts, the Red Cross met its drive goal.
SUNY Potsdam donors helped the Red Cross collect 53 whole bloods and nine double reds, meeting 100 percent of the goal. Members of Prometheus, under the direction of Assistant Director of Student Involvement and Leadership Julie Dold, helped to organize, raise awareness for and recruit donors to the event.
“I want to publicly thank the SUNY Potsdam Campus Community for supporting The Red Cross and our life saving mission. We are experiencing lower than expected donor turn due to a terrible cold and flu season. These blood units will help sustain hospital inventories and make sure hospital patients receive blood when they need it,” said American Red Cross Blood Services Account Manager Linda M. Belton.
