Community Performance Series is set to serve up food and entertainment with the ninth annual Gourmet Guys & A Gal fundraiser. The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 5 p.m. in Thatcher Hall on the SUNY Potsdam campus.

Gourmet Guys & A Gal was created by CPS in 2006, and continues to be the largest fundraiser to support the organization's summer musicals. Four local chefs will team up to design a gourmet menu just for the occasion.

The chefs include Jenny Walker, co-owner of the 1844 House Restaurant; Wally Siebel, guest chef at 1844 House; Rick Cross, co-owner of the Potsdam IGA, and Vern Impey, kitchen manager for Thatcher Hall/Dexter's Café at SUNY Potsdam.

The five-course dinner will be served by a number of community volunteers as well as CPS staff members. Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by local jazz artists, A Finer Line.

"It's not often you get to make a donation to an organization and get something tangible in return. But that's what happens at the CPS Gourmet Guys & A Gal dinner experience," said Siebel, who will serve as a chef for the event again this year. "It's an evening of great food and wine, great friends and live music, and at the same time, you support the organization that brings the best in performing arts to the North Country. It doesn't get any better than that!"

Tickets for the event are $75 per person, with proceeds benefiting Community Performance Series. Reservations can be made by calling the CPS Box Office at (315) 267-2277.

The Gourmet Guys & A Gal menu is also available online at www.cpspotsdam.org. Reservations must be made by Monday, Jan. 20.
