SUNY Potsdam's share the holiday magic collections 155 gifts
SUNY Potsdam’s Share the Holiday MAGIC (Memories and Gifts in the Community) was once again a huge success bringing in 155 gifts to support the Potsdam Holiday Fund.
Members of the residential living community were asked to return from Thanksgiving break with a gift for the program. Resident Assistants RJ Mattimore, a senior from Rochester, and Emily Burt, a senior from Syracuse, with the assistance of the Potsdam Pointercounts caroled through the Knowles residential quad gathering gifts.
Joe Folino, a senior from Rodman, orchestrated a gift-wrapping program in the Lehman residential quad where members of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity assisted in wrapping the gifts for delivery to the Potsdam Holiday Fund.
The thought behind the program is to encourage the College community to become involved in a type of civic engagement at a time when donations are most sought and needed by community-assisting organizations. A wide variety of toys were donated, including craft sets, dolls, games, books, clothes and electronics.
