Schumann 200th birthday celebration at Crane

As SUNY Potsdam nears her 200th birthday in 2016, the campus begins 2010 by celebrating the 200th birthday of German composer, Robert Schumann. SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music faculty present a recital in honor of the master on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Snell Theater. This free recital will showcase the talents of several Voice faculty and give audiences a flavor for the composer’s work.

This program will consist of songs and duets by Schumann including repertoire selections from the Op. 25 song cycle, Myrthen, the complete op. 42 song cycle, Frauenliebe und –leben. Faculty performers for this celebratory recital are Jill Pearon, soprano; Lorraine Yaros Sullivan, mezzo soprano and François Germain, piano.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Snell Theater and is free to the public.
