I am saddened to inform the campus community that Professor Linda Nelson, full-time instructor in the SUNY Potsdam History Department, was found dead in her apartment on the morning of January 29, 2010.
Linda Nelson has been an integral part of the History Department for nearly ten years and will be missed by colleagues and students alike.
The campus will provide the community with information about services as they become available.
Faculty are welcome to call EAP representatives Toby White or Ada Santeferra at campus extension 2199 for assistance in dealing with the loss of Linda.
Students are encouraged to call the Counseling Center at 267-2330 or visit the Counseling Center at 131 Van Housen for assistance in this difficult time.
Professor Nelson’s Monday classes are cancelled. Students taking classes with Professor Nelson should refer to the department web page at www.potsdam.edu/academics/AAS/History/ after 12 noon on Monday, February 1st, or contact the department secretary, Leslie Delosh, after that time at campus extension 2556 for information about classes.
On behalf of the entire Potsdam community, I extend my most sincere condolences to Professor Nelson’s family and friends.
