It is with great difficulty that I report to you the passing of another member of our campus community. We learned this morning that Joe Sarnoff, Director of Retention Programs, and long-standing member of the College staff, passed away at his home.
Joe has been part of the SUNY Potsdam family for nearly 40 years and was a tireless advocate for students and student programming.
Information about services will be shared as they become available.
Loss of a friend and colleague is always difficult. Faculty and staff are welcome to call EAP representatives Toby White at x3434 or Ada Santeferra at x3132 for assistance in dealing with this loss.
Students are encouraged to call the Counseling Center at 267-2330 or visit the Counseling Center at 131 Van Housen for assistance at this difficult time.
We are reminded of how fragile life can be and we ask that people take care with one another today and everyday.
On behalf of the entire Potsdam community, I extend my most sincere condolences to Joe’s friends and family and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and your prayers.
John F. Schwaller
President, SUNY Potsdam
