SUNY Potsdam to add Track and Field


POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam Athletic Department is pleased to announce that it will add men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field programs to its intercollegiate sports offerings. The programs will have club status for the 2016-17 school year and become full fledged NCAA Division III varsity teams in 2017-18. "This is an exciting opportunity for our department and college," said Athletic Director Jim Zalacca. "It aligns itself with track and field programs offered within the SUNYAC and with high school programs within our recruiting boundaries.

Bears mens hockey to hold Autism Awareness Night this Friday

POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team will hold Autism Awareness Night this Friday during its SUNYAC contest with SUNY Geneseo. The Bears will wear special jerseys, which can be bought after the contest. All the proceeds will go to the Autism Speaks organization. Autism Speaks "has grown into the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families."
