Everyone is invited to “go for the green” by joining your neighbors at SUNY Potsdam’s 5th Annual Shamrock 5K Walk/Run, sponsored by the College’s Department of Athletics.
The annual St. Patrick’s Day race will be offered on Thursday, March 17, starting at the Maxcy Hall Athletic Complex ramp. Walkers leave at 4:15 p.m., and runners start at 4:30 p.m.
“The Shamrock Run is a great way to get outside and do something fun and active on St. Patty’s Day. This is our fifth year, and the event has grown from 40 participants to more than 200 runners and walkers in 2010,” said Fitness Center Director Tanya Hewitt. “It’s a lot a fun and we look forward to sporting our green on March 17!”
Registration is free to all SUNY Potsdam students with a valid ID, and there is a pre-registration fee of $15 or a race day registration fee of $20 for all others. The first 250 registrants will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers.
Pre-registration is available until Wednesday, March 16, by filling out forms available in the Fitness Center or online by clicking the shamrock link at http://www.potsdam.edu/athletics/fitnesscenter/index.cfm.
