The "Silly Girls," played by Megan Bristol, Emily Robideau and Lauren McCarthy show their love for hunky Gaston (Peter Caporal) while Belle (Erin Higgins) is enthralled in a book in CPS's Production of Beauty and the Beast running July 31-August 5.

Tickets for the July 31 to August 4 performances of the Community Performance Series production of Disney’s musical “Beauty & the Beast,” are nearly sold-out. In response to an overwhelming flood of ticket orders this past week, CPS has added an additional matinee performance on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music.

“We are delighted that the community has expressed such a strong interest in seeing “Beauty and the Beast.”  Planning for this project began in January and rehearsals began in early June,” said CPS Executive Director Amy Flack.  “Being able to share this production with an expanded audience is very rewarding for the cast, crew, and creative team members who've been working tirelessly to make this a truly magical experience.”

Tickets are still available for the pre-show meet and greet with Belle and her enchanted friends.  This event is being offered August 1 to August 4 at select times.  Children will be welcomed on stage to have their picture taken and collect autographs from the cast.

To purchase tickets to the performance or meet-and-greet, call the CPS Box Office at (315) 267-2277, or purchase online at www.cpspotsdam.org, and at Northern Music & Video in downtown Potsdam. Be sure to check the CPS website for parking updates.
