Crane School of Music Opens Spring Semester With Faculty Showcase

SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music will officially open the Spring 2017 semester with the annual Faculty Showcase, on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The performance will highlight members of Crane’s illustrious faculty of scholars and artist teachers.

Faculty members and ensembles scheduled to perform include: bassist John Geggie; bassoonist Carol Lowe; cellist Ignacy Gaydamovich; clarinetist Raphael Sanders; guitarist Douglas Rubio; oboist Anna Hendrickson; trumpeter John Ellis; violinist Liesl Schoenberger Doty, pianists François Germain, Julie Miller, Rosemarie Suniga and Young-Ah Tak, and vocalists Donald George, David Pittman-Jennings and Jonathan Stinson. They will be joined by the following guest artists: organist Laura Toland, pianist M. Maxwell Howard and vocalist Samantha Stinson.

The concert will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Frédéric Chopin, Ruggero Leoncavallo, Jacques Offenbach, Pablo de Sarasate, Franz Schubert, Joaquin Turina, Claude Bolling, Keith Gates and Richard Wagner.

This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.
