"Blues for Mister Charlie"

10.28.11 @ 07:30 PM
Location: College Theater, Satterlee Hall

Written by James Baldwin in 1963 as a response to the increasing violence in the civil rights movement, the play confronts racism directly and unflinchingly. Based loosely on the Emmitt Till murder, this is playwriting at its highest level, as to be expected from one of the 20th century’s greatest critics of the “race problem.” The language is raw, the images disturbing and the story complex. Thus, this is not a show for young children and is meant for a mature audience.

Ticket prices are $12 for general admission, $10 for SUNY Potsdam faculty and staff and senior citizens, and $5 for SUNY Potsdam students and youth.

Sponsors: Theatre & Dance
