Access-Ability Day at SUNY Potsdam will offer faculty, staff, students and the community an opportunity to become familiar with services and technology available to assist individuals with disabilities on Wednesday, April 25 from 11 am until 3 pm in the Barrington Student Union.
Representatives from SUNY Potsdam and other local agencies will provide information and answer questions about a wide range of services and programs for children and adults with disabilities. There will be demonstrations of assistive technology including computer based products and daily living aids for people with mobility, learning, vision and hearing disabilities.
Two skits “More than Friends” (SUNY Potsdam daycare will be in attendance) and “Kids on the Block” from Cerebral Palsy of the North Country will be presented in the Fireside Lounge at 11 a.m. and Noon respectively.
To conclude the event, there will be a presentation, “More Than A Disability” by Sara Pyszka in the Fireside Lounge at 2 p.m. Sara, who has cerebral palsy and utilizes augmented communication, is a graduate of Wright State University and is an accomplished speaker, lyricist, singer and writer.
