Decision-Making in Complex Environments

Join Linda Moerschell for a 45-50 minute training which will describe the concept of complexity and decision making in challenging and rapidly changing environments. She will describe Boone & Snowden’s, (Cognitive Edge Network) concept of the Cynefin (pronounced ken-e-ven) a leader’s decision making framework. It challenges our linear way of thinking and proposes several decision making environments that include simple, complicated, complex, and chaotic.

The presentation will utilize PowerPoint, a demonstration of a technique, and handouts. The material to be presented is interdisciplinary and appropriate for administration, faculty, and staff.
