SUNY Potsdam

A DJ/reporter introduces participants to the exciting realm of the creation, production, and consumption of global music.  Artists from New York, Paris, and Senegal are collaborating on songs without ever seeing each other. Older styles are mashed into new styles without regard to borders. And, through digital media, music fans can listen live to radio stations and concerts anywhere in the world. This presentation will focus on two genres: the thrilling Ñu Cumbia movement of Argentina and the successful reimagining of hip hop around the globe.
