SUNY Potsdam Bears and Great Northern Printing Team Up for “Go North Night” at Maxcy Hall


Area Youth Hockey and Basketball Players Invited for Evening Tripleheader.

The SUNY Potsdam Athletic Department and local business Great Northern Printing are teaming up for a special “Go North Night” promotion on Friday, December 5th in Maxcy Hall. The Bears host an exciting SUNYAC tripleheader that promises to be a busy and exciting evening for all fans in attendance.

Great Northern owner Randy Sixberry is celebrating 25 years of proudly serving Potsdam and the North Country region.  He states “The SUNY Potsdam campus and the local community have been faithful customers over the years and being part of this special evening is our way of showing appreciation for their support.” Fan friendly contests to win gift certificates, coupons for discounted orders, and 200 free T-shirts will be given away during the evening’s games.

The schedule for “Go North Night” starts with the Bears women’s basketball team tipping off at 6:00 PM against the SUNY Geneseo Blue Knights in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. Next door in the Maxcy Ice Arena, men’s hockey faces off at 7:00 PM against the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. The men’s basketball squad follows the women with at 8:00 PM contest also against Geneseo.

In addition to the student body, SUNY Potsdam invites all area youth hockey and basketball players and their coaches to be their guests for the evening. Players wearing their team jersey will be admitted free for the night. 50-50 raffles will be held to support both Potsdam Youth Basketball and Potsdam Youth Hockey.
