SUNY Potsdam Hosts Annual Art Auction to Benefit Arts Programming on Nov. 30

November 16, 2017

Works to be sold at the SUNY Potsdam Holiday Art Auction include a print by Nathaniel Infante (top center), wooden storage books by Steven Lavine (front) and a ceramic vase by student Tom Green.

SUNY Potsdam’s Department of Art will host its annual Holiday Art Auction this Thursday, Nov. 30, in the Brainerd Hall Foyer. The preview of items begins at 4:30 p.m., with the auction kicking off at 5 p.m.

All are welcome to come and bid on beautiful original artworks by faculty, staff, students and alumni – perfect for holiday gifts. Choose from paintings, prints, ceramics and jewelry.

Some of the items for sale this year include original oil landscapes, art prints and ceramic vases and bowls. SUNY Potsdam art faculty member Nathaniel Infante donated an original print, while award-winning craft artist Steven Lavine has provided a set of handcrafted wooden storage books. One of the student-created works is a ceramic vase by Thomas Green.

All proceeds will go to art students to help defray the cost of supplies, projects and field trips. The Holiday Art Auction is sponsored by the Kappa Pi International Art Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi and the SUNY Potsdam Student Art Association.
