The Athletics Department is accepting on-line applications for a Community Relations Assistant whose duties will be to assist the Sports Information Director (SID) and also perform duties as the Women’s Head Softball Coach.
As coach, responsibilities include contest preparation, practice planning, understand and adhere to guidelines and regulations of the NCAA and SUNYAC, strategic recruiting and retention of student athletes, public relations, purchase and care of equipment, planning and supervision of team travel, budget planning, promotion of program, and monitoring academic progress and success of student athletes. As ASID, selected candidate will work closely with the 16 intercollegiate athletic teams and coaches, serve as the official statistician during designated home contests and report the information to news outlets and post content on PotsdamBears.com, assist with media guides, game day signage, game recaps, setting up video equipment for live streaming broadcasts, feature stories, team projects and all other duties assigned by the SID.
Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree and other coaching certifications as appropriate, demonstrated success as a Softball Coach, and a minimum of three years’ experience.
