SUNY Potsdam

Potsdam's English for Academic Purposes class is called "ESL 190."The mission of the class is to build skills like speaking, listening, understanding, participating, presenting, adjusting, and organizing. These are some of the skills each of us needs to be successful in college and in life.

Free - Community English as a Second Language Classes

Students can attend free ESL classes in the Potsdam Village Community Center attached to the Potsdam Public Library. To get the most updated information on class schedules and events, "like" Potsdam ESL Class Facebook page.

Free - Individual Tutoring

ESL Tutoring with the Literacy Volunteer Program: Students can contact Literacy Volunteers at the Potsdam Public Library to set up an interview and assessment. English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

Clarkson University offers EAP classes. Students may take two courses per year at any of the other three universities in the area, while remaining registered at Potsdam. Students do not need to pay tuition to the other campus to take these classes. Learn More
