You and Your Grub

Another important aspect of off-campus living is the food supply. There a few options to consider:

  • If everyone buys their food individually, there needs to be a set policy of food sharing.
  • If, however, everyone decides to contribute to an overall food budget, go shopping together so everyone can have input.
  • You should also decide on an eating schedule for your household.  If you buy your food together, you should eat together too.
  • Who cooks, cleans, shops and eats are all important aspects of off-campus living.
  • Another easy way to afford eating expenses while living off-campus is to purchase a Meal Plan from PACES Dining Services.
  • Although you may live off campus, you will spend a great deal of time on campus.  Having the convenience of a meal plan allows you to purchase meals, snacks and beverages without needing to have cash on you at all times.
  • Students who live off-campus may choose any meal plan they wish. PACES has developed lower-priced plans designed for non-resident students.
  • Off-campus meal plans can be deferred to your college bill and are covered by most scholarships, grants and financial aid.
