Air Force ROTC

About Air Force ROTC

Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corp) is designed to develop the next generation of Air Force officers by allowing students to accomplish leadership training concurrently with satisfying their undergraduate degree requirements.  There is no obligation for non-contracted freshman or sophomores within this program.  Areas of focus include problem-solving techniques, communication skills, management principles, physical training, and a myriad of other opportunities that challenge students in this program.  To participate, students who enroll must have a minimum three years left on their degree plan as of the Fall semester in which they join.

The Air Force ROTC program offers any student who meets eligibility requirements the chance to earn a scholarship to pay tuition and fees at Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam, Saint Lawrence University, or SUNY Canton.  Scholarship amounts range from $3,000-full tuition per year, $900 per year for textbooks, and a $300-$500 tax-free monthly stipend.  Upon graduation, the student is commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and receives an active duty (full time) assignment for a minimum of four years.
