The History Association of the State University of New York at Potsdam wishes to provide students with a place and a forum to meet and discuss topics in American history, world history, current events, the American political scene, sociology, philosophy, and law, while also facilitating a greater understanding of humanities studies and creating a social atmosphere that will enhance learning at SUNY Potsdam.
The goals of the History Association include providing resources and a forum for students interested in the study of history and the humanities while providing a source of learning outside the traditional classroom. The Association would like to bring speakers to campus, bring forums and discussion to campus, host events that promote the humanities, fuse our organization with other clubs for future activities and events, take regional and longer trips to American and Canadian sites of historical importance, and attend conferences around the United States. We also would like to greatly increase our membership numbers, our weekly attendance numbers, increase our annual events, and increase our overall position on campus.
