Soca Loca

Mission Statement

Soca Loca provides a cultural support network for students of Caribbean and Latin American backgrounds and any other students who share the goal of increasing cultural awareness in the community. Soca Loca offers the chance to study other cultures by traveling to other colleges for conferences, as well as holding forums, mixers, parties and their annual Carnival and Pagaent here on SUNY Potsdam's campus.

Organizational Goals

Within the year, we hope to have other clubs on campus attend our events. Our group wants to spread cultural awareness of Caribbean and Latin Cultures and the connections they share.

Pagaent is an annual event that celebrates all cultures. This celebration of culture occurs every fall semester. Carnival is an annual event that usually takes place in May. Carnival is a celebration of cultural food, music, and entertainment. Throughout the year, Soca Loca plans other activities such as dinners and dance fundraising events.
