Emerging leaders are committed and motivated students who seek to develop as leaders and give back to SUNY Potsdam. Students join the program in their first or second year and remain valued members of the group throughout their undergraduate years at Potsdam. No prior leadership experience is required to participate. The three goals of Emerging Leaders are to:
Thanks to all those participating in PAW, Nov. 5-9, 2012. The students raised $1,297.65 toward the Student Gift (The College's Greatest Needs). More initiatives will be coming as the year goes on. The students offered Hershey's hugs and kisses to be sent to friends on campus, spirit magnets, and apple "thank you" tokens. They also sponsored a coin carnival for student groups, and the staff participated in a silent service auction. The students bid on items offered by staff from play dates with puppies, to help with resumes writing. The auction raised $688 toward the overall total. The faculty participated in the inaugural "Faculty Bake Sale," with Kim Bouchard taking the honors for baking the favorite item -- Raspberry White Chocolate Blueberry Muffins.

All interested students must attend a Mandatory Information Session where they will have an opportunity to learn more about the program, meet some current members and complete an application to be considered as a participant.The Mandatory Information Session will take place on Tuesday, September 18th from 6:30-7:30pm in the Student Union Fireside Lounge.
