The New Frontier; Bio-Ethics


7 credits for 15 students. Coordinator: Robert Ewy.

For students interested in exploring through philosophical lenses the ethical challenges that ground-breaking explorations in biology present to us.

BIOL 100 Principles of Biology 3 Cr. MWF 9-9:50am Ewy, R.
Three hours lecture and one two-hour lab weekly. One semester course providing an understanding of the operation of biological systems and acquaintance with biological concepts and principles. For non-majors. Satisfies General Education SB requirement. Students need to take one of the two lab options offered in fall to meet the LB requirement.

PHIL 120 Introduction to Ethics 3 Cr. TuTh 12:30-1:45pm - Little, J.
Nature of judgments of moral value and possible means of justifying them. Satisfies General Education PI and XC requirements.

INTD 150 General Honors Colloquium 1 Cr. Tu 2-3:15pm ? Smith, D.
The General Honors Colloquium is a mandatory course for all students wishing to complete the General Honors Program. It is an interdisciplinary course in the form of several different modules, each containing a different topic. This course is intended to help introduce students to the Honors Program. It is graded satisfactory/unsatisfactory (S/U).
