An introductory course that explores the theories and evidence for the origins of performance and how different cultures create performance arts events and rituals. Satisfies General Education FC and AC requirements.

DANC 120 Performance Explorations 3 Cr. MW 9-10:50 a.m. Bouchard, K.
An introductory interdisciplinary course designed to provide students with fundamental skills in personal expression, improvisation, and communication as a creative and performing artist.  Satisfies General Education AE requirement.

COMM 106 Basic Principles of Speech 3 Cr. TUTH  4-5:15 p.m.  Nesbitt, T.
Basic Principles of Speech is an  introductory course in public speaking. It is a skills course informed by speech communication theory. Skills include analyzing the speaking situation, choosing appropriate topics, conducting research, organizing ideas, utilizing evidence and delivering speeches effectively. Special emphasis is given to developing critical thinking and listening abilities. Satisfies the General Education FS requirement.

FY 100 First Year Success Seminar: 1 Cr.  F 11-11:50 a.m.  Canedy, T.
A one-credit course meeting once a week and offering an excellent introduction to the College’s resources and how to succeed in the difficult transition from high school to college life and work. Integrated with the FIG’s theme.
