Natalie Francis

Coming into college, I always believed that I was going to be a lawyer.
While taking general education classes, I came upon Intro to Sociology.
This one class changed my perspective on everything. After realizing I had
a keen interest in the topics and theories of sociology, I decided to
declare it as my major my second semester of freshman year.

I enjoyed sociology because I realized even if it was not a Pre-Law student, I was
still in the field of helping others. The welfare of others is something
that is very dear to me. With a sociology major and a Human
Services minor in hand, I now know how to help many others as well as
myself succeed in society today.

Latesha is a sophomore Mathematics and Sociology major with a minor Human Services. She is a Resident Assistant, a member of Black Student Alliance and EOP Advisory Board. She has had the same questions and frustrations about exploring/ investigating majors as you may have. She has completed the sometimes long and confusing process of declaring a major and minor, and can help you do the same.
