The Student Success Center (SSC) staff members are pleased to announce the creation of the SSC Student Award funded through donations from SSC staff and other interested faculty and staff at the College.
Award recipients are chosen based on nominations received from faculty and staff. This is NOT a scholarship a student can "apply" for.
The intent of the award is to provide financial support to encourage the persistence and continuing success of a student who has made use of the services within the SSC. It will be awarded annually to an undergraduate in economic need.
Nominee Criteria
Nominees must have evidence of perseverance amidst personal and/or academic hardship, have used the services of at least 2 (or more) offices in the SSC and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Preference will be given to students who have second semester freshmen standing (12-23 audit hours) at the time of nomination.
Deadline for Nominations
Nominations for the SSC Student Award will be due by April 1, 2009, from SSC Offices and the campus community. Students can be nominated more than once, but only one scholarship is awarded annually.
