Hi! I am Rebecca Tejera. I am a Licensed Clinal Social Worker. I have been working in the helping profession since 2013. Throughout my career, I have had the honor of helping others in various roles such as camp counselor, case manager, emergency services clinician, inpatient therapist, and outpatient therapist. Prior to joining the team at SUNY Potsdam Counseling Center, I was working in an outpatient clinic with children and adolescents.
I enjoy engaging in ongoing professional development (trainings, reading, webinars) in order to learn additional treatment methods to help clients achieve their goals. I have especially enjoyed learning more about DBT skills. I am presently Certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT) through Evergreen Certifications. I look forward to assisting students to incorporate these skills.
When not in the office, you will find me spending time with my golden retriever, Watson who hopes to become a Certified Assisted Therapy Animal in the future. I also appreciate watching movies, reading, cooking, swimming, hiking simple trails, spending time with my family, and traveling.
