Philosophy of Education (Studio): In order to be a healthy, efficient, performer of vocal music a student must both understand the functional unity of singing as well as be willing to explore the emotions of human nature. I believe these two concepts are inextricably linked and each student must learn the fundamentals of their instrument (anatomy and physiology) and the fundamentals of singing (alignment, breath, resonance, tone, etc.) while working to develop their skills as a singing actor. It is my job to help the student build their vocal technique while guiding them as they develop the artistry to become a successful, performing musician/actor. Through weekly lessons, studio class, and open communication, we will build a rigorous, healthy, honest, trusting, caring atmosphere in which I believe is the most conducive for learning.
