While you’re quarantining, go ahead and Complete your COVID-19 training online. All students need to complete this online training designed by our Department of Public Health and Human Performance before the start of classes on Monday, August 31.
Arriving to Campus
In order for us to be able to process everyone, and to keep density low, it is important for you to arrive to campus as close to your appointment time as possible. You may be required to wait if you arrive at an alternate time.
The testing and check-in process will be a centralized, drive-through process. If you are driving, you will need to enter campus using Canton Drive.View Campus Map (PDF)
Please follow the directions once on campus to Parking Lot 9, where the testing and check-in will be administered. if you are walking and/or arriving by bus, please head right to Lot 9 and we will assist you as you arrive.
We know that we've already said this, but it is so important! By the time you come to campus, you need to make sure you've registered online already for your COVID-19 test. If you do not currently have health insurance, click ‘no insurance’ and you will not be charged.
You will be asked to attest to completing your self-quarantine prior to your test. If you have not completed this, you will be required to quarantine on campus.
Staff from Student Health Services will administer the test using a nasopharyngeal swab.
Once you are tested, you need to continue to self-quarantine until you receive your results. This is because we don't want you to inadvertently infect someone if you are positive!
If you are an on-campus student, you will receive your key after your test.
After you have completed the entire check-in process, you will have 2 hours to move your items into your room.
While more than one person may travel with you to Potsdam, only one person may enter your residence hall with you.
As you are moving in, you and your guest must wear a mask, adhere to social distancing expectations, and are encouraged to sanitize/wash your hands frequently.
We will not have moving bins available.
While we are planning for a safe return and having students on campus throughout Thanksgiving break, the ongoing health pandemic and updated guidance from New York State/SUNY may result in changes. When planning what to bring to campus, we encourage students to bring only what they believe is necessary in order to ease the move-out process, should the campus need to close.
