Graduate Tuition Scholarship Program for EOP, HEOP, and SEEK Students

What is the Tuition Scholarship Program and who is eligible?
The Graduate Opportunity Program Tuition Scholarship is for former EOP, HEOP or SEEK program graduates. Acceptance into the program is determined at the campus to which the student has applied and depends, in part, on the number of scholarships allocated to that campus. All applicants, however, must be enrolled in a graduate program at a participating SUNY campus. This special scholarship for disadvantaged students reflects SUNY's concerted efforts to expand educational opportunities to underserved constituencies.

What will the graduate tuition scholarship provide?
The graduate tuition scholarship will provide students with financial support to cover tuition and costs at a participating SUNY graduate and professional school where they qualify for admission.

How is the program supported?
A special appropriation supports the tuition scholarship program. This funding has been provided to encourage graduates of special programs to pursue graduate degrees in such critical fields as business, science, engineering, health sciences, mathematics, and computer technology. Prior to this support, SUNY was unable to expand significantly educational opportunities for disadvantaged students who wished to continue studies beyond the baccalaureate degree.

What is the application procedure?
All students must apply directly to the SUNY Graduate School of their choice. A listing of campuses where these schools are located is contained in this publication. Written documentation of a student's prior status as an opportunity program student is required for the Graduate Opportunity Tuition Scholarship Program. Students who are interested in graduate study are urged to also consult with their EOP/HEOP Director.

What fields of study are open at the graduate level?
Discipline areas are diversified as well as comprehensive and include biological sciences, literature, social sciences, business and management, fine and applied arts, foreign language, health sciences, education, physical sciences, engineering, computer technology and law.

How may additional information be obtained?
