$1000 Scholarship available for Distance Education Coursework
SUNY Potsdam is grateful to alumnus Thomas L. Russell, Class of 1957, and his wife Jane D. Russell, who have endowed a scholarship fund to encourage students to broaden their educational experience by taking courses through distance education. The scholarship recipient will be chosen by a selection committee based on the following criteria:
The student must have successfully completed at least one credit-bearing distance education course either at SUNY Potsdam or another institution, and the student must be registered for a second (or subsequent) distance education credit-bearing course. Any SUNY Potsdam distance education credit-bearing course is eligible for consideration.
First preference will be given to matriculated Crane School of Music majors.
A student may receive the scholarship more than once, provided that he or she continues to take distance education courses in consecutive semesters. Although financial need is not a requirement, if all candidates have equal eligibility as outlined above, preference shall be given to the student with the greatest financial need as determined by the College's Financial Aid office.
