NASA’S Artemis Program: Moon, Mars and Beyond with Jamie Szafran ’08

Friday, July 9 at 12 p.m. via Zoom

For the past ten years, NASA Computer Engineer Jamie Szafran ’08 has played an integral role in the development of the Artemis Program, which will bring the first woman and first person of color to the moon. This mission will not only allow scientists to learn more about the moon itself; it will also prepare for human exploration of Mars. Jamie’s exclusive Virtual Reunion Week presentation will be followed by an interactive Q&A. Read more about Jamie’s Potsdam story.

Conversation with Coach Jerry Welsh (Hon. ’79)

Thursday, July 8 at 7 p.m. via Zoom

In both 1981 and 1986, Coach Jerry Welsh (Hon. ’79) led the SUNY Potsdam men’s basketball team to victory in the NCAA championship games. Many alumni from the ’80s remember exactly where they were when the games took place, whether watching from the stands or listening through the radio in their friend’s dorm room. Join Coach Welsh for a conversation about the team’s historic wins and their impact on the players, the College and himself four decades later.

Enjoy a virtual tour each weekday during Reunion Week! Tours will include SUNY Potsdam’s campus (Thurs. at 2 p.m.), The Crane School of Music renovations (Fri. at 2 p.m.), SUNY Potsdam’s WISER Center (Wed. at noon), and the Bayside Cemetery (Tues. at 2 p.m.).
